Dali Desert and Salar de Chalviri
Heading north from Laguna Blanca, we reached the Dali Desert. This place, also known as Dali Valley (Valle de Dalí), is an extremely barren valley of southwestern Bolivia. Landscapes resemble surrealist paintings by Salvador Dali.
The dirt road was surprisingly busy with regular traffic of trucks conveying all sorts of chemicals products. We left the cars and walked for about a mile to get closer to the rocks. Coming back was quite challenging because of the gusting wind.
Salar de Chalviri
The Salar de Chalviri lies slightly more to the north. I like this kind of photo in which a hiker, only a few pixels, emphasizes by contrast the immensity of such places.
