Eilean Donan Castle
Eilean Donan is a picturesque and iconic 13th century castle, standing on a small tidal island, and overlooking the Isle of Skye. It stands at the point where three great sea-lochs meet, and is surrounded by the forested mountains of Kintail. A footbridge, built during a restoration phase at the beginning of the 20th century, connects the islet to mainland. I believe this is the fourth bridge built at this location.
I have taken a few shots of the castle on two occasions, always in difficult conditions because of very heavy rain. During my second visit at the end of 2016, there was so much rain that I had to shoot from inside the car and move the car around on the deserted parking lot to obtain various angles.
